Closed Buttons

Buttons are made to close things.

But too often, people also close their eyes to the problems of the world. In my photo series Closed Buttons, I used actual buttons to symbolically close the eyes of my subjects, reflecting the way society often looks away from suffering and injustice.

This series is a response to global events. It challenges the viewer to confront what is usually ignored.

Perhaps, by seeing these images, you'll open your eyes.

Closed Buttons – Refugees was a LensCulture Exposure Award Finalist in 2018.
